Protection & Control Systems
Powerserve Technologies, Inc. (PSTI) has engineered complete replacement of Progress Energy's (FPC) 500 kv transmission line protection. PSTI also assembled the panels and delivered them directly to the appropriate substation. Two of four lines have been completed. The remaining two lines are scheduled for 2004.PSTI has designed ring bus protection for 69 thru 230 kv, line protection for 138 thru 500 kv, and distribution substation relay upgrades at old substations. The distribution substation upgrades were turnkey included the addition of differential schemes with automatic restoration for transformer problems and testing/commissioning. These projects consisted of installing bus tie breakers and motor operated 25 kv load break switch for the automatic bus restoration scheme.
